Frequently asked questions (and answers)

Curious about yoga or meditation? Wondering if online yoga classes are effective? Eager to learn about what to expect from your personal yoga trainer? You’ll find the answers in our Soule Collective FAQs below.

MindBody Common Questions

Mindbody Online is the platform we use to upload our online yoga classes and manage our extensive library of virtual yoga classes. It’s essentially a service that allows you to book your classes, set your schedule, and view on demand classes as well. It’s like YouTube for all things wellness but with your own personal receptionist.

Follow these steps to log into your mindbody account and start your yoga classes online:

  1. Log in to The Soule Collective on MindBody
  2. Sign up for a class (ProTip: You can sign up/pre-register for as many classes as you like with the monthly subscription.)
  3. You’ll get an email from The Soule Collective (via no-reply@apiant.com) with the link to the Mindbody online class.
  4. Click on the link and connect to Mindbody Online (Up to 30 minutes before class starts.)
  5. If you don’t want us to see you (for alignment purposes), feel free to turn your camera off.
  6. If you want input, please leave your camera on and place your mat with a side-view to the camera. (Beginners may want to face the camera so they can see the demonstrated postures.)
  7. Adjust your volume to hear the teacher. (We mute all devices once class starts.)

MindBody is compatible with several browsers. You just want to make sure you have the most current version. Many browser issues students have with MindBody are due to either an outdated browser or a lack of compatibility with certain plugins such as Java. Also you may want to “clear your cache” or browsing history if you continue to see issues.

MindBody currently supports the latest versions of the following browsers:

  • Chrome 74+
  • Firefox 68+
  • Safari 12+
  • Edge 18+
  • Mobile Safari 12+
  • Chrome Mobile 76+

Browser capabilities can differ significantly between desktop and mobile. Plus, many features may not be supported on every browser. Java, in particular, is integral to many parts of the MindBody software (such as hardware). However, it isn’t supported on most mobile applications.

Additionally, the oldest version of macOS that is supported is macOS Sierra (version 10.12) as this is the oldest version that is able to support Safari 12. So, you’ll want to update your browser before you log-in to your yoga classes to avoid any issues.

First, check that your browser is fully updated. MindBody  requires web browsers to support the TLS 1.2 security standard—your software will not load when using an outdated, insecure browser.

Click here to check now. Then follow these steps:

  1. Check the Status page
  2. Restart your computer
  3. Clear your browsing history

Follow these steps to reset your MindBody password:

  1. Log into your MindBody account.
  2. In the top right hand corner, click on your name.
  3. A menu will come down with the options to edit your profile, change your password, or log out of Mindbody.
  4. If you forgot your password, go to The Soule Collective MindBody site and clink the link, ‘Forgot your password?’

You can stream our online yoga classes from any computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Questions About Online Yoga Classes

Yes! There are a variety of classes, teachers, and levels you can choose from. And your expert personal yoga trainers will properly demonstrate all postures and transitions.

The best part of online yoga classes is their convenience. You can practice as much as you’d like from wherever you are. And unlike in-studio classes, you can hit the pause button at any time and adjust yourself. Plus, you can take and retake your favorite yoga classes on-demand!

Our teachers excel at skillfully leading you through class sequences in mindful and safe ways. So, you’ll know when you’re doing the movements properly. You can also have them provide feedback on your placement and movements by leaving your camera on.

Only if your doctor or health care provider says it’s okay. Please check with your doctor or health care provider first to see if taking yoga class is appropriate for you.

If you get clearance from them to take yoga, please let your teacher know of any injury or condition. That way your teacher can suggest modifications and variations for your practice.

Only if you want to be seen during your yoga classes. You can easily control the camera settings on your device, turning it off during classes. Ready for a new online yoga experience? Give The Soule Collective a try today with our

Common Questions about Yoga

Yoga has many forms. But it’s essentially a set of practices that create physical and mental well-being. In the west, most yoga students practice Hatha yoga. This branch of yoga focuses on the use of physical postures to create health and vitality.

In practice, we link yoga postures to the breath, which connects the mind with the body. This connection calms the nervous system and soothes the mind, and helps to protect us from the stress of our 21st century lives.

No worries! You’re the perfect candidate for yoga class! Many yoga students come from an athletic background (with tight hamstrings, hips, and shoulders). Yoga postures are designed to open up the body and enhance your flexibility over time.

Your teacher will offer modifications to help you adjust each pose to your level of flexibility. It’s not about how deep you get into each pose. It’s about patience and right intention. Flexibility comes over time.

This depends on what you want from your yoga. In addition to all of the physical and mental health benefits of yoga, it can provide a complete cardiovascular and strength-building workout.

If you already have a fitness routine and just want to maintain flexibility and de-stress, 1-2 classes per week might be enough for you. If you are looking for a practice that’ll create change in your body, you should practice at least 3 times per week. And practice 4-6 times per week if you want to see a dramatic difference in your life!

In general, it’s best to practice yoga on an empty stomach. But you know your body. Ultimately you decide exactly what/when to eat. General guidelines are to wait 2-3 hours after a large meal and 30-60 minutes after eating fruits and vegetables. Dried fruit and nuts are a good choice if you need a small snack before you practice.

Sanskrit, the language of yoga, is a complex language, and translations of this incredible little word are diverse. In short, and in the tradition of its Indian roots, namaste is a salutation with respect. Imagine seeing an elder and saying “Hello sir/madam” instead of “hiya!”.

All you need is a yoga mat and a mobile device or desktop with a stable connection to the internet. Let The Soule Collective take care of the rest as we guide you through your yoga lesson and on a deeper journey to find yourself.

Some students find it useful to have two blocks, a blanket and a strap, but the teacher will advise on any other props you may need.

Also, if you’re sharing space with others, it may be nice to use headphones so you can listen as loudly (or softly) as you like!

So, why wait? You can get started with online yoga today!

Common Questions for Soule Meditation

Nowadays, it’s typical for us to get up, roll over and…look at our phones! Mediation changes it up. Instead, we start the day turning our focus INWARD to focus on what’s really important.

The benefits are profound: a positive start to the day with a foundation in peace and balance, more productivity, a heightened ability to sift out the “noise” in our lives and make better decisions. The list goes on and on.

For yoga classes, we strongly encourage that you use a sticky yoga mat and yoga blocks or a blanket. If you don’t have these, feel free to use what you do have: a fitness mat, a stack of books tied together to serve as blocks, or any blanket or throw.

For meditation classes, you can use the same props that you’d use for your yoga classes. Alternatively, you can simply use a chair or find a place where you can sit comfortably.

If you are finding it difficult to get comfortably seated in meditation, check out this video by our founder, Rebecca Soule, on YouTube.

We recommend beginner meditators find a quiet, calm space where you can focus. For example, a quiet corner in your home, free from distractions. Or, you can meditate in a relatively quiet outdoor space. Eventually, you’ll be able to meditate anywhere!

It’s your choice! You can control the camera settings on your device. Some people prefer their privacy. Others feel that being visually present helps them connect with fellow students.

If you’re looking to start your day right, join Soule Collective Founder, Rebecca Soule on YouTube every Thursday Morning at 6:35 AM for Meditate Now.

And stick around afterward for your free online yoga class, Morning Moves at 7:35 AM.
